This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. The successful applicant must perform a full range of calculations and computations. This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

Evans Engineering, Incorporated has provided the Triad area with land development consulting, land planning, civil engineering, and surveying services since 1974.  We are situated in Greensboro, North Carolina and have been providing these services to public and private clients locally for residential, commercial, industrial and municipal projects.  We have the ability to provide complete boundary, location, control and topographic surveying as well as construction staking with the latest robotic and GPS equipment.  Having an established local client base translates into our field crews not being required to do any out of town or overnight projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • All phases of field work including: Boundary & Topographical Surveys; Construction Layout; As-Built surveys and utilization of a Robotic total stations and GPS
  • Perform field calculations and sketching
  • Downloading and checking raw field data
  • Manage quality control of all survey documents, including point coordination, field notes, sketches, plans, etc.
  • Supervise and conduct evaluations of survey crew members
  • Responsible for company vehicle, cellular phone and survey equipment
  • Responsible for managing company gas card, gas tickets and other related expenses
  • Routine maintenance of survey equipment
  • Communication and follow directions from management

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years’ experience land surveying performing property, topographic, and construction surveys
  • Must be able to lift minimum of 50lbs
  • Strong Work ethic and works well with others
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Valid NC Driver’s License required

Weston Lyall Engineering and Surveying is a small engineering/ surveying firm located in Holly Ridge North Carolina. We are looking for a land survey/ CAD technician with knowledge and proficiency with basic AutoCAD, the use of data collection software for surveying, and strong collaboration skills.

You need to be able to work well with others and adjust to office needs quickly. Recent college graduates and currently enrolled students are accepted. This position is for full or part-time and is for “on-site” work only- not remote.

The candidate is required to have basic knowledge and skills to draw plans on AutoCAD. The primary responsibilities are concentrated on LAND SURVEY/ CAD technician duties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

(1)    The use of basic AutoCAD software for the drawing of boundary lines, topography, construction surveys, and “as-built” surveys. Transportation drawing/design is a bonus.

(2)    You must be able to interpret and process field files INTO drawing files (survey).

(3)    You need to have the ability to perform deed, map book, easement, and title research.
