Instrument Man - Randleman, NC

Level Cross Surveying PLLC has an opening for a Survey Instrument Man.  The Instrument Man will be responsible for carrying out surveys in the field under the guidance of the Party Chief. The primary role of the Instrument Man is assisting the Party Chief in completion of all surveys and construction staking. 

Responsibilities & Duties: Using a level rod, prism pole or tape to assist in determining location and elevations of various features. Lay out stakes for construction and land surveys. Cut and clear brush and trees from line of survey. Carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, nails needed for surveying. Keep survey vehicle supplied with equipment, clean and organize vehicle. Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief. 

Requirements:   Ability to work outdoors with occasional extended hours.  Able to work and travel within North Carolina. Must pass background check, drug screening, and have insurable driving record.

Job Summary:

Consistent with the duties of a Registered Land Surveyor and under broad supervision, collects and interprets geographic information provided by geodetic surveys, aerial photos and satellite data. AutoCAD Technician - Statesville & Concord, NC

Are you an experienced Survey Technician looking for a great, new opportunity? Join an extremely experienced team with extensive design/construction experience. 

CESI is looking to hire a Surveying Technician for its Concord and Statesville, NC offices. The job would consist of producing drawings from surveyed field data utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Day to Day Job Duties

  • Performing survey computations involving coordinate geometry and trigonometry.
  • Data entry of field notes into existing computer systems.
  • Reviewing of field notes into existing computer systems.
  • Boundary, and topographic survey computations.
  • Entering data from construction plans and CAD files in preparing for field crew staking.
  • Using plotting machines.
  • Deed research.
  • Deed plots and map checks.
  • Building 3D surface models.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must Possess the Following Skills

  • 1 year or more of AutoCAD experience
  • PLS License preferred
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license
  • Negative drug screen and background check

Part-Time Instructor / Geomatics Program

Primary Purpose of Position      
The Department of Built Environment is accepting applications for two Part-Time Instructors for the Geomatic Program. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach courses in Geomatics/Land Surveying delivered by the Built Environment Department’s Geomatics program. The Department is currently looking for two candidates to teach a two course sequence in 1) Automated Surveying and Mapping (Fall) and Residential Subdivision Design (Spring); 2) Satellite Positioning (Fall) and Geodesy (Spring). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching online courses, willingness to participant in Learning Management Systems training, participating in data collection and assessment of student learning for ABET, and submitting teaching materials as part of semester review. Candidates will work closely with the Geomatics Coordinator for assessments as well as faculty with subject matter expertise.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Built Environment supports over 175 undergraduate majors in the programs of Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety and, Geomatics. The courses taught in the Geomatics program area are at the undergraduate level and include Automated Surveying and Mapping, Residential Subdivision Design, Geodesy and Satellite Positioning.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Geomatics or related discipline at time of application with five years’ experience in the profession of land surveying or related field. Sequence 1 requires experience in using AutoCAD Civil 3D for residential design and experience in designing subdivisions. Sequence 2 requires experience in using GNSS equipment and basic geodetic techniques.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education 
Candidates with Master’s Degree and 5 years professional experience and with background in Geomatics or related discipline. Professional licensure is preferred.

Professional Property Surveyors, Inc. (PPS), a land surveying firm located in Cornelius, NC is seeking a motivated individual experienced in various types of Land Surveying to fulfill a full-time position of Survey Party Chief.  PPS is also seeking an individual to fill the position of Field Survey Technician. Responsibilities and requirements for Survey Party Chief include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

·         Coordinate 1-2 men field crews

·         Research legal records

·         Prepare maps from field and office data using AutoCAD / Land Desktop 2009

·         Quality Control

·         Perform office & field work as needed and directed

 

Requirements

·         NCPLS or SI license is preferred or a minimum of 5 years experience required.

·         Experience working with Topcon & Trimble GPS, Topcon and Nikon Total stations and TDS Rangers, or equivalent

·         Dependable transportation to and from office including a valid driver’s license with good driving record.

·         Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs.

·         Desire to work in a collaborative environment

·         Must have experience with plat Mapping, Property descriptions, deed research, topos, boundaries, ALTAs, and construction staking

·         Some travel and overnight stays may be required
