Job Summary

This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the work of one or more survey crew members engaged in surveying to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, mining or other purposes.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 3-5 years progressive experience in survey field operations

Survey Technician - High Point, NC

This position will be responsible for creating and updating survey drawings and working on various assignments as a project team member to accomplish regular CAD drafting tasks. Projects include a wide variety of commercial, residential, municipal and educational.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who works well with team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school/GED diploma
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience as CAD Technician.
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and Windows based office computer programs.

Survey Crew Member - High Point, NC

Job Summary

This position will assist the field crew leader by operating both GPS and conventional survey equipment in support of field survey projects. Applicant must have the ability to perform manual labor tasks including, but not limited to: clearing line, setting stakes, digging holes, and the ability carry heavy objects.

Rivers and Associates, Inc. is looking for an Instrument Operator to join the Surveying team. 

Job Duties 

  • Operates survey instruments/equipment required to perform surveys on job sites as directed by the Party Chief. 
  • Responsible for the operation, checking and basic field adjustments on transits, total stations, robotic total stations, data collectors, levels, compass, tribrachs, tripods, and GPS equipment.  
  • Must be knowledgeable of the principles of performing basic surveys: leveling, traversing, boundary surveys, construction surveys, topographic surveys, and photogrammetry control surveys. 
  • Coordinate fieldwork for a variety of standard types of surveys under the supervision of a Party Chief. 
  • Basic plan reading and preparation and have a basic knowledge of the terminology and principles of conventional drafting. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the truck is loaded and all supplies necessary for completion of the day’s work are fully stocked. 
  • Other duties as assigned  

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Courses in mathematics and surveying that are required in order to perform the above responsibilities 
  • Ability to walk 5 miles a day and/or stand for up to 7 hours a day 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment 
  • Possession of a valid, current driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • All phases of field work including: Boundary & Topographic Surveys; Construction Layout; As-Built surveys and utilization of a Robotics and GPS
